For most app categories — yes. The new React Native architecture (JSI, Fabric, TurboModules) eliminates the bridge bottleneck. Apps using Reanimated for animations are indistinguishable from native to most users.
We default to Expo managed workflow for most projects — faster builds, better tooling, and easier OTA updates. For projects needing native module customization, we use Expo with custom native modules.
